15 Ways to Drive Moms of Young Kids Crazy
Hey there! We all know that being a mom, especially to little ones, can be one of the toughest jobs out there. While things might get easier as the kids grow, those early years can be a wild ride. Moms of young children are often sleep-deprived and juggling endless tasks, which means they can be a little on edge. So, if you want to keep the peace, here are some things you should definitely avoid saying or doing around them:
- Giving us that look of pity and suggesting we need a makeover while we’re just trying to get through the mall.
- Asking “why” about anything. Trust me, we’ve answered that question a million times today already.
- Bringing up anything Disney-related in front of our kids. Seriously, we don’t need that kind of excitement right now!
- Handing out stickers, Play-Doh, or glitter like they’re candy. We’re already dealing with enough mess.
- Raving about how much you love weekends because you can sleep in. Yeah, we get it—rub it in a little more!
- Telling us how bad TV is for kids and how you’d never let yours watch it. We’re doing our best, okay?
- Bragging about how breastfeeding magically melts away baby weight. Not all of us have that experience!
- Staring us down when our kids are having a meltdown in public. We know it’s loud; we’re working on it!
- Saying you’d be bored out of your mind as a stay-at-home parent. Really? We’d love to trade places for a day.
- Wearing yoga pants only when you’re actually hitting the gym. We just want to look comfortable while wrangling kids!
- Commenting on how tired we look and suggesting we catch some Zs. Thanks for the tip, Sherlock!
- Giving us unsolicited advice on applying for schools way too early. We’re just trying to survive the toddler years!
- Not helping us navigate the tempting impulse buys in the checkout line. A little help would be nice!
- Pointing out that our caffeine addiction is technically a drug. Thanks for the reminder, but we need it to function!
- Sighing heavily when we sit next to you on a flight. Trust us, we’re not thrilled about it either.
So if you notice a mom overreacting to your comments, don’t take it to heart. Sometimes, we just need to let off a little steam!
