5 Ways to Keep Throwback Thursday Fun
I totally understand the appeal of digging up old photos and sharing them. It’s hilarious to reminisce about those outdated outfits or wild hairstyles, and seeing our kids when they were still adorably chubby is priceless. However, some Thursdays, scrolling through my social feeds feels more like a tedious chore as I sift through endless posts, wishing to see something fresh and relevant from the past week.
Here are five friendly tips to ensure Throwback Thursday stays a delightful walk down Memory Lane.
1. Share Photos That Are Truly Old
Come on, last year’s pics don’t really count as a throwback! A good rule of thumb is to aim for at least five years back. Of course, if you’ve got something truly epic from more recent times, feel free to share!
2. Limit the Number of Photos
One nostalgic pic with your childhood pals is great, but posting eight different ones? That’s a bit much. Instead, stick to one gem or create a single album to showcase those memories.
3. Add a Little Context
Got a funny or heartwarming story behind that old snapshot? Share it! A photo is always better with a story to bring it to life, don’t you think?
4. Embrace the You of Today
While it’s fun to see you at different stages of life, let’s not make it all about how much thinner or younger you looked back then. We love you just the way you are now, and that’s what counts!
5. Use a Reasonable Number of Hashtags
Let’s keep the hashtags to a minimum. Just a couple of relevant ones along with the classic #tbt will suffice—no need to tag every single detail!
And please, let’s keep Throwback Thursday confined to… Thursdays. Flashback Friday might just be pushing it a bit too far.
I truly enjoy seeing what my friends share, and I just want to keep that joy alive on Thursdays as well.

Summary
Remember to keep Throwback Thursday light and enjoyable by sharing older photos, limiting the number of posts, providing context, focusing on your current self, and using fewer hashtags. This way, we can all enjoy a fun and nostalgic experience together!
