5 Summer Camps We Wish Existed

So, summer camp season is around the corner, and while my son is all set to go (we’ve already checked out the camp, and he’s buzzing with excitement), my daughter, who’s just seven, is a bit more cautious. She gets upset if we go anywhere without her, so we’ve decided on a day camp for her. I recently stumbled upon a list of some seriously cool summer camps—think Hollywood stunt camp, coding camp, race car camp, secret agent camp, and even a shark camp in Fiji! But the one that really caught my attention was a Harry Potter camp, which inspired me to create some unique camp ideas of my own, ones that would be a blast for my kids and maybe even give me a break as their devoted but weary mom. Here they are:

Camp Half-Blood (Percy Jackson Camp)

If your kids are diving into the Percy Jackson series, this camp would be a dream come true. They’d get to form cabins named after Greek gods and engage in friendly competitions while learning fun skills like metalworking (thanks, Hephaestus), swimming (hello, Poseidon), gardening (shout out to Demeter), and even music and prophecy (Apollo, anyone?). Plus, for the girly girls, there’s the Aphrodite cabin, and for the sporty ones, they can channel their inner Artemis. My son is already decked out in his Percy Jackson T-shirt—I got it for him last Christmas!

Phineas and Ferb Camp

Imagine a whole day dedicated to inventing wacky contraptions, only to have everything magically vanish by the end of the day. Plus, the camp songs would be an absolute hit!

Hanging Out in the Neighborhood Camp

Honestly, this is what my kids really want. They just need some guidance on how to plan it out. Think breakfast at the local diner, bike rides, playground stops, candy store snacks, and lunch at the deli. It’s like the good old days of summer, reimagined as a camp experience.

Anti-Gravity Camp

How fun would this be? They could learn how to move in zero gravity, eat snacks while floating, and maybe even recreate those hilarious space station videos we all love to watch.

Life Skills Camp

This is the camp I’d love them to attend for my sanity! They’d learn essential skills like cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and picking up after themselves. I mean, other camps are cool, but when will they ever need archery skills? This one is all about practicality!

I think these camp ideas could keep the kiddos entertained while also giving me a little relief.
