If you’ve got little ones at home, chances are you’ve heard about those tiny, adorable plastic figures that are taking the toy world by storm—Shopkins! These miniature collectibles, shaped like everything from fruits to household items, are cuter than anything else, but they can quickly become an obsession. If you’re experiencing any of the following, it might be time to face the facts: Shopkins have officially invaded your home!
1. You’re Creating Your Own Shopkins Names
Shopkins are these little plastic characters that look like food and other shopping items, complete with quirky names like Sally Sushi and Tilly Teapot. It seems my 4-year-old can name them all, and I’ve even found myself brainstorming names too. How about Cucumber Carl or Blender Brenda? I could keep going! (Shopkins HQ, if you need new ideas, I’m your gal!)
2. You’d Do Anything for an ‘Ultra-Rare’
Each Shopkins package comes with a surprise, and some are harder to find than others. The ultra-rares are like gold dust, and my kids are practically begging me to track them down. Honestly, it feels like a treasure hunt, and I’m starting to wonder if I’d do something questionable just to snag one. Just asking for a friend, of course!
3. You Know Your Local Toy Store’s Delivery Schedule
With Shopkins being so popular, they fly off the shelves. I’ve caught myself waiting outside the toy store for the delivery truck to arrive. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be the first to grab a new batch of these little guys? It must be another mom in a white SUV I see out there.
4. YouTube Has Become a Shopkins Channel
You might have noticed that YouTube is filled with unboxing videos of Shopkins. People just opening packages to reveal their new figures—and guess what? These videos get millions of views! I can confidently say that at least a billion of those views came from my kids alone.
5. You’re a Bit Jealous of Your Kids
As much as I love to roll my eyes at Shopkins, I can’t help but feel a pang of envy for my kids. When I was their age, we collected things like Garbage Pail Kids cards. Why were we obsessed with such bizarre items? Give me a Pecanna Pie over that any day!
In conclusion, if you’ve found yourself nodding along to these signs, it’s clear that Shopkins have taken over your life. But hey, at least they’re cute!
