Dear Pinterest,
Hey Pinterest,
I just wanted to take a moment to say how much you’ve become my go-to buddy lately. I mean, you’ve really stepped up, and I can’t thank you enough. Sure, I have my pal Email, who I hang out with a lot, but sometimes he can be a bit of a downer. I keep reminding him to be cautious around strangers, but he’s just so trusting. I still appreciate him, though. Then there’s my friend Book, who I love to chill with—he’s just so calming.
But here’s the thing: I can make room for all of you in my life, and you, Pinterest, have carved out a super special spot. You’re always so cheerful, supportive, and full of inspiration. You’re there for me whenever I need you, and you never judge. You’ve truly enriched my life, and for that, I’m grateful.
Planning with Pinterest
Planning my kids’ Amazing Race birthday party for my 15-year-old and 13-year-old? Couldn’t have done it without you. You’ve provided me with fun ideas for teaching French, inspiration for dinner when my creativity runs dry, and even tips to organize and decorate my home. Thanks to you, my kids will have a summer packed with exciting activities.
A Little Concern
But, I’ve got to bring up a little issue. Ever since you became buddies with Email, I can hardly pop in for a quick chat with him without getting sucked into your amazing world of cool photos and step-by-step guides. I start to say goodbye, and then there you are, popping up again to share “just one more idea.” My family, my dog, and my other friends are feeling a bit neglected because of this!
Now, I know it’s not really your fault—it’s me. I’m an idea junkie, and I have so many projects on my plate, none of which are finished. I’m starting to lose hope about turning my backyard into a paradise or surprising my spouse with a gorgeous front walkway. And don’t even get me started on those Pinterest-perfect projects that seem impossible!
Still, I adore the idea of saying I did it myself, often for a fraction of the cost of hiring someone. Plus, the joy of putting my own spin on things is priceless.
Feeling Overwhelmed
But after spending so much time together, I feel a little overwhelmed. It’s like you show me these incredible projects, like making a lamp from an antique postcard carousel, and then I can’t find the materials anywhere! I know it’s available, but the shipping costs would eat into the kids’ college fund.
Maybe it’s time for me to reconnect with Book; I sense he’s feeling a bit left out. I wouldn’t want him to think I’ve forgotten about him. So, Pinterest, I’ll catch up with you soon, but I’ll make sure to balance my time better. I’m sure I’ll see you again at Email’s place!
