25 Nostalgic Moments Evoked by Bath & Body Works Classic Scents
As I sit here enveloped in the aroma of Juniper Breeze, I can’t help but reminisce. When Bath & Body Works announced the return of some beloved fragrances this summer—especially my favorite from the ’90s—I rushed to my local store, fearing a repeat of the Lilly Pulitzer for Target debacle that left me empty-handed. I was determined to secure “the fresh scent of evergreens dancing in a meadow breeze, with hints of juniper leaves and dewy musk.”
Honestly, I couldn’t have described Juniper Breeze before looking up its official scent profile. For me, it’s more like “the invigorating spirit of your mid-20s, blended with a newfound sense of freedom and confidence.” The moment I got home and sprayed myself with Juniper Breeze, I was transported back to my mid-’90s self, having my own little Proustian experience, all thanks to a trip to the mall.
But with this nostalgic thrill comes a small caveat. I can enjoy this lovely scent that I thought was lost forever and relish the memories it conjures. Yet, I realize that the more I wear it now, at 45, the more it risks losing its time-traveling magic. Still, I’m willing to make that trade. For now, Juniper Breeze helps me relive those lost summer days. Maybe it—or another revived Bath & Body Works fragrance—will spark some of these memories for you too:
