The 34 Demands My Kids Make While I’m Trying to Work Out
So, there I am, trying to elevate my heart rate for a solid 20 minutes, and my kids decide that this is the perfect time to bombard me with their never-ending requests. It’s like they have a sixth sense for when I’m about to break a sweat. Here are the 34 things my little ones want from me while I’m attempting to exercise:
- A snack
- Can you turn on the TV?
- Someone needs a diaper change!
- Change the channel, please!
- Make up a story that’s way cooler than what’s on TV.
- Another snack? Seriously? That last one was hours ago! How about seven pieces of bacon?
- “Look at this boo-boo!” It’s right here. RIGHT HERE!
- Reporting that someone’s foot itches.
- Get Connect Four down from the shelf, please!
- Settle a debate: who’s red and who’s black in Connect Four?
- An egg, a cotton ball, and my pillows.
- “Can I borrow one of your bras? We’re just experimenting!”
- Alerting me that the little one just swallowed a cotton ball. Great.
- “What happens if a raw egg ends up in a bra?”
- “Can you call Jack’s mom for a playdate right now? I haven’t seen him in FOREVER!”
- Price out some new paint colors for our room—maybe something ninja-themed?
- “Someone stinks!” Thanks for the heads-up.
- Boot up the computer for a game, please!
- Another seven pieces of bacon, please!
- Just quickly open that email so I can write “happy birthday” to Grandma.
- What’s the secret code for the credit card?
- What does “life-size” mean?
- $124, please.
- Another snack.
- What’s a “pen pal”?
- And while we’re at it, what’s a “loosie”?
- Can you screech like a T-Rex?
- Just point the computer camera at me for two seconds, okay?
- Snack!
- What’s a “hashtag”?
- “Hah hah, #wobblymama is trending!”
- “Look, Mommy, it’s you!”
- Help me put away the yoga mat, please.
- No dinner tonight!
