This School Year, I’m Embracing My Inner ‘Super Mom’
Hey there, friends! Can you believe summer flew by this year? Guess those endless snow days really sped things up! But I’m ready to dive into the school year with a fresh mindset. Yep, I’m officially declaring that this is the year I’ll become the mom who has everything organized and does all the ‘good mom’ things to help my kids thrive. That’s right—I’m stepping up my game to be ‘Super Mom’!
Now, let’s be real for a moment. It’s been fun being the Average Mom, but with three boys in three different schools—elementary, middle, and high—I’ll be navigating the chaotic world of school schedules like never before. Survival mode is activated! But hey, who says survival can’t be stylish? I’ve spent hours on Pinterest crafting adorable “Homework Stations” and “Snack Centers.” Just last night, I prepped 25 individual snack packs with pretzels and carrot sticks because they’re way cheaper than those pre-packaged ones. Plus, I’ve dedicated a whole shelf in my fridge to bento box lunches. This Average Mom is transforming into Super Mom faster than you can say “school supplies!”
Speaking of supplies, I won’t even complain about the ridiculously specific shopping list from my kids’ school. If they want that 1-ounce jumbo glue stick instead of the four-pack of smaller ones on sale, I’ll get it for them! And if I can’t find those elusive plastic yellow folders because some crafty mom has hoarded them, I won’t sweat it. I’ll cheerfully grab a green plastic folder and a yellow paper one. The teacher can take her pick and keep the extra. See? Super Mom is all about generosity!
I’ll tackle this year with a smile, not just because I’m committed to this new phase, but also because there’s a happy hour at the bar next door. Yes, yes, new leaf and all that, but I definitely need a little liquid encouragement to keep me going. And you know what? As I look around, I see I’m not alone. The bar is filled with other Super Moms, all quietly sipping their drinks while sharing tales of back-to-school chaos, and suddenly I feel at home.
So, cheers to us—Average Moms and Super Moms alike! In summary, this school year, I’m embracing my role as Super Mom while navigating the ups and downs of parenting three boys in different schools. With a little organization, a few adorable snack stations, and a supportive community, I’m ready to take on whatever comes my way!
