I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to address that rather startling “NO” I shot your way the other day when you asked to hitch a ride with me to the park. I noticed you seemed a bit taken aback, and I can’t blame you—it was a bit abrupt, wasn’t it?
I sincerely apologize for the panic-induced shove I gave you toward your own car. I tend to go into a bit of a frenzy when it comes to my vehicle, and let’s just say that my car’s interior is best kept a mystery. Your perfectly organized spice rack and meticulously arranged pantry (remember that time I had free rein in your kitchen?) made me realize you might not be prepared for the chaos that is my ride.
You see, while I’m sure your family enjoys a tidy life free of crumbs and sticky surfaces, my car is a different story. Moldy French fries and hardened candy are only the beginning! Just last weekend, I found myself in the middle of a nail-clipping session for my little one, which turned into a nail explosion all over the backseat—fun, right?
Oh, and don’t get me started on the rogue fruit! A single peach made its home under the front seat and smelled like a wet dog that just rolled in something funky. This is the lifestyle of the parent of three boys, after all. And let’s not forget the shoes—summer means sweaty sneakers flying off feet, and before I know it, I’m dealing with a mini tornado of smells and sounds.
To be completely honest, I’m not exactly the best at keeping my car clean. I often prioritize shuffling my kids safely away from the street over a thorough cleanup. If I spent more time focusing on the car, I might have actually been able to welcome you in without sending you fleeing in horror!
So, in short, I’m really sorry for the way I reacted. I hope you understand my firm stance on this matter. If you ever want to suggest an outing in my car, just give me a heads up a day or two in advance, and maybe we can prepare for the adventure together!
