Photo Captures Determined Mom-To-Be Taking College Exam While in Active Labor
Giving birth is no easy task, which is why this incredible photo of a mom in labor while finishing her college psychology exam has gone viral. Last Thursday, Emily Davis found herself in labor on the only day she could take her online exam for her psychology course at Middle Georgia State University. Instead of postponing or requesting extra time, she decided to power through and get it done.
In an interview with a local news outlet, Emily shared her mindset: “I thought if I could endure the pain now, it would make things easier later, and I could enjoy my time with my newborn.”
Emily’s sister, Lily Davis, proudly shared a photo on Facebook showcasing her sister’s remarkable dedication. She captioned it, “This is what you call ‘Strong Priorities.’ With contractions just three minutes apart, she’s still focused on her Psychology Test! You’re going to be an amazing mom, sis!”

Ultimately, she left the hospital with a solid B on her exam and a beautiful seven-pound, ten-ounce baby girl named Ava Marie.
When asked how she felt about stepping into motherhood and where she found such resilience, Emily remarked, “She is my entire world now. I want her to see that I can achieve my goals as well. Just because I’m a young mom doesn’t mean I can’t be a good one.”
