Your personal narrative holds the potential to inspire meaningful, enduring change in society. By recounting your experiences—both the triumphs and the challenges—you play a vital role in reshaping perceptions across the nation. Your story can reassure other LGBTQ+ families that they are not alone while providing invaluable insights for future generations about the richness of LGBTQ+ family life.

Let’s Get Started

If you’re part of an LGBTQ+ family and are excited to share your journey, here are three ways to begin:

Together, we can weave the tapestry of LGBTQ+ family experiences over the past four decades, allowing future generations to draw strength, joy, love, and hope from our collective history.

  1. Join a Virtual Storytelling Circle
Participate in our monthly virtual program, Outspoken Voices, where LGBTQ+ families nationwide gather to share and listen to five-minute stories that reflect powerful themes. In just an hour on Zoom, we explore the joys, obstacles, humor, comfort, pride, and curiosity that define LGBTQ+ family life today.

  2. Complete Our Online Form
Prefer to express yourself through writing, art, or photography? With our user-friendly Google Form, you can submit your story along with photos, videos, or other materials that illustrate your experiences. Once submitted, we’ll reach out to provide further details!

  3. Connect with Our Team
Our Associate Director of Archives, Storytelling, and Brand is eager to chat about your experiences! In one or two casual calls lasting 30-60 minutes, you’ll have the opportunity to share your story, guided by informal questions. After you review your recorded story and indicate any content you wish to keep private, it will be added to our living story library.
