From the moment I learned I was going to be a mom, I’ve been ready for you. Ever since I played with dolls as a little girl, I’ve been rehearsing for this role, dreaming about reading you bedtime stories and seeing your beautiful smile. I’ve imagined the unique bond we will share, finding that perfect mix of parent and friend.
I want to be the one who knows all your secrets, hopes, and fears. But I also worry about the tough times ahead. Life can be unkind; not everyone will have your back. I long to shield you from the darker aspects of the world while still equipping you to face them head-on.
I hope to teach you the values of kindness, patience, and forgiveness. However, more than anything, I wish for you to be nothing like me. I don’t want you to wander through life searching for who you are, like I did. I want you to stand firm in your identity, surrounded by the love and support of your family.
I hope you never feel the sting of being different but learn to celebrate it, understanding that our uniqueness is what makes us shine. Don’t let your experiences harden your heart the way mine did. Instead, let them cultivate your empathy and compassion.
I hope your words don’t become weapons when you’re upset. Please remember to be kind, even when you’re angry. Stay strong and grounded in your beliefs. If it means stepping away from the crowd to stay true to yourself, I hope you find the courage to do so.
Keep your heart open and trust in yourself. Don’t let insecurities hold you back, like they did for me. Be brave and explore the unknown. Embrace failures as stepping stones to growth; they’ll teach you valuable lessons.
I know you’ll carve your own path, just as I have mine. While I wish you could skip pain and heartache, they are part of life’s journey and can lead to positive transformation, if you allow it. You’ll stumble, you’ll feel discouraged, but you’ll rise again, because you are resilient.
This is your journey to navigate, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I hope you avoid my mistakes, but I’ll be here to support you, no matter what.
You are magnificent. You are extraordinary. You are simply perfect.
