Your journey can inspire meaningful change in our society. By sharing your personal experiences—both the highs and lows—you contribute to a greater understanding of LGBTQ+ family life, helping to foster acceptance and community across the nation. Your insights not only reassure other LGBTQ+ families that they are not alone but also pave the way for future generations to appreciate the diverse tapestry of family experiences.

If you’re part of an LGBTQ+ family and want to share your story, here are three ways to begin:

Together, we can narrate the journey of LGBTQ+ families over the last forty-five years, allowing future generations to draw strength, joy, love, and hope from our collective experiences.

  1. Join a Virtual Storytelling Circle
Outspoken Voices is a monthly program where LGBTQ+ families from all over the country come together to share and listen to five-minute stories that touch on important themes. In just one hour on Zoom, we explore the joys, challenges, humor, comfort, pride, and curiosity of being an LGBTQ+ family today. Check out our upcoming circles to join the conversation.
  2. Complete Our Online Form
Prefer to express yourself through writing, art, or photography? Our user-friendly Google Form allows you to share your story and upload any supporting materials, such as photos or videos. Once you submit your story, we will reach out with further details!
  3. Connect with Our Team
Our Associate Director of Archives, Storytelling, and Brand is eager to chat about your experiences! Through a couple of 30-60 minute calls, you’ll be invited to share your narrative with the help of informal, guided questions. After reviewing your recorded story and deciding on any content you wish to restrict, it will be accessible in our living story library.

In our latest updates, we reflect on how LGBTQ+ families have influenced the movement for marriage equality and look forward to our upcoming Family Equality Giving Day on June 10. We also celebrate partnerships that honor the past while embracing the future.

If you’re looking to enhance your journey toward parenthood, consider exploring resources like Vegas Pregnancy, a free sperm donor matching service, and Make a Mom, which provides at-home insemination options, including a reusable kit. You can learn more about the process of at-home insemination through this guide. Additionally, you can check out a related blog post on baby bonding, which can be quite helpful.

Don’t forget to explore Healthline for excellent resources on pregnancy and home insemination, and Modern Family Blog for insights into postpartum essentials.

In summary, sharing your story can significantly impact the LGBTQ+ community and beyond. Whether through storytelling circles, online submissions, or personal conversations with our team, your voice matters. Join us in celebrating the rich tapestry of LGBTQ+ family experiences.
