Tales from the Nation of Empowerment: My Daughter Deserves More
I’m on this journey because I was once an insecure chubby kid—yes, that was me. I vividly recall the hurtful remarks thrown my way, the taunts echoing in my ears, even an ice ball that hit me smack in the face. Sound familiar? It’s a lot like the things you hear from certain public figures today. I never had the courage to speak up; I just wished no one noticed. I felt like I had to be clever, hilarious, and incredibly kind to distract from the fact that I was the target of such negativity.
The hardest pill to swallow was that I internalized those harsh words. I genuinely believed I was nothing more than a “fat, disgusting pig.” As kids, we’re conditioned to trust what others say, and I took those comments to heart. Now, as a proud mom to my beautiful daughter, I want something far better for her than the example set by some adults. She deserves a role model who embodies kindness and wisdom—not someone who resorts to childish insults and displays blatant ignorance.
I stand with her because I asked my daughter tonight if she dreams of being president one day, and who knows, she just might! Speaking of dreams, if you’re interested in learning more about home insemination, this is one of our other blog posts that you might find enlightening: intracervicalinsemination.com. And for those looking for a reliable source on at-home insemination kits, check out Make a Mom. If you’re exploring options in fertility treatments, Hopkins Medicine is an excellent resource.
In summary, I want my daughter to grow up in a world where she feels empowered to rise above negativity and pursue her dreams unapologetically.
