Help us all. It’s January 2nd, and as we attempt to embrace the new year with positive vibes, there’s a looming feeling of dread. This month marks the inauguration of our 45th President, Donald Trump.
Seriously, someone hold us.
While we’re doing our best to stay hopeful, Trump’s relentless Twitter tirades make it a challenge. Come on, buddy. You won. Can we get a little peace now? What will he even tweet about once he tires of bragging?
His New Year’s tweet was as typical as ever: childish and completely nonsensical.
Love!
This isn’t what we expect from a president. It’s not even remotely adult-like. How did we end up here?
Enter Robby Novak, better known as “Kid President.” The 12-year-old’s response has more grace and maturity than our soon-to-be leader, and Twitter quickly took notice.
If anyone needs us, we’ll be stress-eating cookies and wishing for a time machine.
Alright, you got us, Kid President. It’s not the time to hide away under our blankets. We’re in this together, whatever that may mean.
Update
We’ve learned that the social media accounts for “Kid President” are actually managed by his brother-in-law, Mike Henderson, meaning an adult crafted that tweet. It slipped our minds that Kid President is a character, not a real person. Still, it was a brilliant tweet!
