Ever scroll through social media and think, “Why didn’t I come up with that?” If you’re one of the many parents who have struggled to teach their little ones to tie their shoes, let me introduce you to Max. He’s a spirited five-year-old with a loose tooth, and trust me, he’s about to steal your heart.
In a video shared on the Love What Matters Facebook page by his mom, Jenna Lee, Max showcases a fantastic new method for shoe tying while narrating the exciting events of his day. As Jenna captures the action in their kitchen, Max confidently announces that he has “a new way to tie shoes.”
We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Sifting through countless online tips and tricks, with Google throwing over 736,000 results at us when we type “shoe tying.” There are even catchy little songs about bunny ears hopping through holes. But forget the fluffy bunnies; Max is here to revolutionize the shoe tying game in under a minute.
As the video rolls, Jenna navigates the delightful chaos of family life, including a curious dog eager to witness Max’s shoe-tying genius. After shooing the pup away, we hear another sound, which Max cheerfully points out is just “my dad comin’ in.” Jenna gives a gentle reminder that this is important and hopes for some peace during the recording—a familiar plea for dads everywhere.
Throughout the tutorial, Jenna stands back and allows Max to take the lead, offering constant encouragement without rushing him. Many of us, especially those juggling multiple kids, could learn a thing or two about her patience (ahem). The video has already racked up over 800,000 views since yesterday, so it seems we’re not alone in our admiration.
Once Max successfully ties his shoes, he beams with pride and credits his friend, Leo, for teaching him the trick. Instead of soaking up all the glory, Max graciously acknowledges his buddy’s role in his accomplishment. Jenna thanks him for sharing his skills, to which he sweetly replies, “You’re welcome.” Seriously, is anyone else’s heart ready to burst from cuteness overload?
