These little ones are truly meant to be! In a delightful twist of fate, two babies were born merely 18 hours apart in a South Carolina hospital, both delivered by the same doctor. And their names? None other than Romeo and Juliet! Just picture it: when baby Juliet calls out, “O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou, Romeo?” he can simply reply, “Look to your left, I’m right here!” What are the chances of that happening?

“We chose the name months in advance,” shared Juliet’s mom, Emily Thompson, from Bluffton. “We wanted a name that started with J to match our son, Jason. We decided on Juliet after watching a show where one of the characters was named Jules.” Romeo’s parents, Alex and Mia Rodriguez, had also settled on their name well before his arrival.

“It’s amusing because we didn’t name him Romeo after Shakespeare,” Mia, 24, from Beaufort, explained. “We chose it because we love the singer Romeo Santos!” The story gained traction when the hospital’s newborn photographer, Lisa Johnson, shared this charming coincidence on Facebook. “Both parents had picked these names early in their pregnancies and didn’t know each other until today!” she wrote. “Both babies have full heads of hair and are already the cutest couple!”

Lisa elaborated, “I visit the hospital every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to offer photography sessions for new moms. Both families had booked me that morning when I realized their babies’ names!” After a few independent photo sessions, she asked if she could snap a picture of them together, and they were thrilled to oblige.

“We’ve got a famous kid already, and she’s just a day old!” beamed Emily’s husband, Mark. Before long, we might find these two cuties living together with their dogs, Capulet and Montague! Okay, maybe we’re jumping the gun a bit here.
