Let’s be honest: kids can be downright quirky. Sometimes, parents just have to roll with the punches, and that’s precisely what Missouri mom, Lisa, did when it was time to celebrate her daughter Molly’s third birthday.
Molly had a singular vision for her special day: a poop-themed birthday party. And so, her wonderfully whimsical parents set out to make it happen. The inner child in me is cheering loudly!
“Like any child, Molly was super excited about her birthday and wanted it to center around something she adores,” Lisa shared with us. “This time, that something was poop. Every time we discussed her party, she insisted on poop balloons and a poop cake!”
Despite their attempts to nudge her toward other themes, Molly remained steadfast. One night, Lisa turned to her husband and said, “What if we just lean into the poop theme?” He agreed it would make Molly happy. “We often worry about impressing other adults at these parties, but this was all about Molly, so we decided to embrace her love for poop.”
Thanks to the popular poo emoji, Lisa discovered plenty of adorable poop-themed supplies online, including costumes for her and Molly. They even crafted a hilarious “Pin the Poop in the Toilet” game, which was exactly as comical as it sounds!
The party took place last October, but the fun photos only recently surfaced and have since gone viral. Lisa mentioned that Molly is thrilled with all the attention. “I told her that lots of people are enjoying pictures of her poop party and find it hilarious,” she explained. “Dr. Phil even gave it a shout-out, and since Molly wants to be a doctor, she thought that was super cool!”
Lisa noted that Molly’s fascination with poop remains as strong as ever. “I have no clue where this passion comes from,” she admitted, “but it’s real and pops up every single day.” Molly even takes on the role of “poop detective” at home. “One time our dog had an accident while we were out, and now every time we enter the house, Molly insists on checking for it,” Lisa laughed.
While Lisa never anticipated the party would gain such widespread attention, she loves that it showcases Molly’s unique spirit. “It’s never crossed her mind that poop is an odd theme for a party,” she reflected. “As you grow up, people start telling you what’s cool and what isn’t. Right now, I absolutely adore that she embraces what she loves. That’s why we decided to fully support her quirky requests.”
And we’re so glad they did!
