Mom Allegedly Steals Stroller from Another Mom at Disney and Tries to Sell It on Facebook
In a shocking turn of events at Disney World, a mother’s magical day was disrupted when her expensive stroller was stolen. While enjoying a family outing at Hollywood Studios, Emily Johnson from Miami, Florida, parked her $1,800 Bugaboo stroller in a designated area, only to find it missing upon her return.
“It was especially frustrating because it happened at a time when I needed it most, ruining our day at Disney,” Johnson shared with local news outlet WFTS. To make matters worse, her wallet, car keys, and an Epipen belonging to her niece were also left on the stroller.
Feeling stranded without money, Johnson’s husband had to rush from Miami to rescue the family. Disney security reviewed surveillance footage and discovered a woman taking the stroller while pushing her own child. Johnson and her husband then shared a screenshot of the incident on Facebook, asking for the community’s help in locating the thief.
Meanwhile, a woman named Sarah Adams from Texas unwittingly bought the stolen stroller through a Facebook group for $500. The seller, Michelle Brown, who allegedly stole the stroller, contacted Adams to reclaim it after she learned of the theft. Adams had already paid for the stroller and was about to receive it when she recognized it from Johnson’s post.
With the help of vigilant online users, law enforcement issued an arrest warrant for Brown, who is also being investigated for other luxury stroller thefts at Disney.
For parents who have navigated Disney with little ones, the sheer size of stroller parking areas can be overwhelming. With conveniences like the Magic Band for purchases, it’s easy to forget personal belongings in the hustle and bustle of family fun. Unfortunately, one mother took advantage of this situation for her own gain.
Johnson expressed that her disappointment lies not just in the theft of her stroller, but in the betrayal from another mom. “It completely ruined our day,” Johnson lamented. “My husband had to fly in to help us, and we ended up having to return the next day. Our vacation was really affected.”
