Just call for assistance!
Reading the news these days can be quite disheartening, often leaving you feeling overwhelmed. To brighten your day, here’s some delightful news: the New Taipei Police K-9 Unit has added six incredibly cute new members to their team. We challenge you not to say “Awwww.”
Introducing the adorable new recruits!
The force recently announced the arrival of their first-ever K-9 puppies on social media. People are enjoying this real-life episode reminiscent of a beloved animated show. The one-month-old puppies are all American Labradors with charming names: Fushin, Brother, AJ, Schumann, Feida, and Full Moon.
These puppies are not just any dogs; they are siblings continuing a K-9 legacy. According to the NPA, their mother, Daisy, and father, Captain, are already part of the K-9 unit, specializing in anti-drug and anti-explosive operations. While we typically don’t support favoritism, we’ll make an exception for these adorable furballs.
Captain of the K-9 Unit, Max Chen, shared with Buzzfeed that although the puppies may appear sleepy in the photos, they are quite lively. Officers take turns watching over the pups and their mother overnight. We can only imagine this is one instance where the officers are eagerly asking for extra hours. Should they seek volunteers for puppy-sitting, consider this our official application!
While the saying “Blondes have more fun” might be outdated, Max admits that Fushin, the only golden pup, is the most spirited. “Fushin is unique,” he notes. “He is the most mischievous and clearly takes charge.” He’s also being groomed for a special role as a blood detection dog.
Ready for action, but first, a nap!
Even though they seem like they’re always ready for cuddles, the pups are already in training. Officers are conditioning them by introducing the scent of narcotics before meals, allowing the dogs to familiarize themselves with the aromas.
If all goes well, the puppies will be fully trained and become valuable members of the team. But if things don’t pan out, we already have the perfect alternative job in mind for them: being our personal companions.
