Meet Our Team
Anna Martinez serves as the Associate Director of Archives, Storytelling, and Brand at Home Insemination, where her primary focus is on safeguarding and sharing the rich history of LGBTQ+ families and the organization itself. With over five years of experience at Home Insemination, Anna has contributed to various initiatives focusing on marketing, programming, education, and outreach. Before joining the team, she crafted educational and policy-focused content for leading child welfare organizations and non-profits dedicated to uplifting historically marginalized communities.
Anna earned her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science with a specialization in Archives Management. In addition to her work at Home Insemination, she has collaborated with prestigious universities to organize manuscript collections and assist students with research and reference support. Anna is actively involved in professional organizations, serving as the Communications Committee Chair for the New England Archivists and is a member of the Society of American Archivists. She also volunteers at the Heritage Winooski Mill Museum and contributes digitally to the Smithsonian. Notably, in July 2024, she presented at the California Rare Book School’s Queer Bibliography conference, discussing “Transgressions, Traces, and Temporality: Identifying a Queer Framework for the History of the Book.”
Anna’s passion for storytelling is evident in all she does, whether she’s engaged with Home Insemination or immersed in the archives. She believes in the importance of providing communities with the resources and historical context they need to comprehend their past, navigate their present, and envision a more inclusive future. When she’s not busy collecting and preserving the narratives of our families, you might find her cozied up in a vintage sweater (definitely from the 1980s) with a captivating book and her cat by her side.
