Do you remember your pre-baby body? The one that could handle all-nighters and sneeze without worrying about a wardrobe malfunction? I certainly do, and boy, do I miss it! During my pregnancy, I took every possible measure to maintain my figure. From pelvic exercises to keep everything intact, to nightly oil slathers aimed at preventing stretch marks, I was on a mission. I focused on healthy eating (with the occasional ice cream indulgence) and worked out consistently to manage my weight gain. I even splurged on special bras claiming to preserve “perkiness.”
While some of my efforts paid off, I had to say goodbye to certain aspects of my body. With both of my kids taking after their Bigfoot-like father, my petite frame endured quite a transformation. My once-envied chest now resembles two oversized bags of milk—let’s just say they won’t make an appearance in a dimly lit room anytime soon.
Let’s take a closer look at what I miss:
- Breasts: Almost every mom I’ve chatted with yearns for her pre-baby or pregnancy chest. After having kids, they either swell or shrink to raisin-like proportions. Why can’t we find a happy medium? It’s not fair that our breasts now look like deflated balloons left out in the sun!
- Nipples: Now they resemble gigantic flying saucers. If you’ve nursed, you know the feeling—sensitivity? What’s that?
- Bladder Control: I used to be the queen of holding it in during long work hours, not because I wanted to, but because I was so busy. Now, my bladder has taken charge. When it’s time to go, there’s no waiting. Who would have thought that post-baby life would mean a silent prayer every time I sneeze, laugh, or cough? This is a common complaint from fellow moms.
- Hair: If you have thick hair, brace yourself. I used to sport a glorious mane that everyone admired. Now, after months of shedding, I have hair so thin it could qualify for a retro 80s hairstyle.
- Butt: Apparently, my backside decided to merge with my legs during my last pregnancy. Sure, a million squats could fix it, but as a busy mom, who has time for that?
- Feet: With everything else changing, you’d think my feet would stay the same. Nope! They grew half a size and never reverted. Goodbye to those stylish heels I cherished!
- Brain Function: Here’s a mystery: how can I recall my childhood phone number but not remember where I placed my keys? With kids, it’s like my mind has been swapped for a sieve.
- Tummy: While I never flaunted abs of steel, I definitely didn’t look like I had just downed a burrito feast every day.
Was it all worth it? Absolutely. Would I go through it all again for my little ones? Without a doubt. But let’s be honest—wouldn’t it be nice to wear a dress without cramming into Spanx and jump rope with the kids without worrying about an accident? The answer is crystal clear, isn’t it?
