When the news broke about the celebrity phone hacking incidents, I couldn’t help but wonder: do that many people really take intimate pictures of themselves? Apparently, they do—maybe I’m just out of the loop! While I certainly don’t take those kinds of photos, as a mom of three who has a soft spot for chocolate, I started to think about what a hacker could potentially find on my phone. Honestly, I’m a 37-year-old mother, so I doubt anyone would be eager to target me. But if they did, here’s what they might uncover:
- An assortment of kid selfies. You know, the kind that captures the essence of childhood (and the occasional goofy face).
- Awkward selfie attempts. Like that moment when I accidentally snap a shot of my chin instead of my face. How glamorous!
- Indiscernible photos. Sometimes, I can only guess what my toddler was trying to capture—like my armpit or the kitchen floor. Nope, no sharing that!
- That urgent “should-I-take-my-kid-to-the-er” photo I sent to my partner during a chaotic day.
- Dressing room dilemmas—those pictures sent to my best friend asking things like, “Do these jeans fit?” or “Should I go with this color?” She knows to delete them right away, but I might have forgotten a few.
- A plethora of “don’t forget this moment” snapshots, frozen memories of family life.
- Unread emails from the PTA that I keep meaning to address but never seem to get around to.
- Missed calls from people I won’t name—some things are better left unspoken!
- Lists and notes to jog my memory about everyday things, like when school starts back up.
- A treasure trove of texts exchanged between my husband and me, filled with love and laughter—but definitely no scandalous photos.
So, if you’re a hacker, feel free to dive into my phone. I’d be curious to see if there’s anything interesting enough to sell to a magazine. If you can manage that, I’ll happily share in the profits!
What would you find on your own phone?
