I can hardly contain my excitement about you becoming part of our family, but before we celebrate with a toast, there are a few things I’d like to share.
Our Bond
First and foremost, I am his mother, and that means he was my little boy long before he became your partner. One day, you’ll understand the depth of that bond when you become a mother yourself. It’s a role filled with both joys and challenges, and letting go is something I’ve struggled with. I promise to work on it for all of our sakes, and I hope you’ll keep this in mind if I seem a bit too involved.
His Quirks
As our youngest, we may have indulged him a bit too much, making him somewhat of a baby. You might have already noticed that he likes things his own way, often relying on those charming puppy-dog eyes to sway your decision. I apologize for encouraging that behavior back when he was just a toddler! If he steps out of line, feel free to give him a playful nudge back into shape.
Now, here’s a little secret: he’s not exactly the tidiest person around. That’s partly my fault; I was a bit too lenient on chores while trying to maintain a clean home. I tried to teach him the value of cleanliness, but like many lessons, some stuck and some didn’t. I can assure you, picking up his dirty socks won’t be your favorite pastime either!
A Little Myth
On a more serious note, I once overheard him telling a friend he was allergic to cats. That’s a total myth! He had a run-in with a neighbor’s cat when he was younger and has been terrified of them ever since. So if you’re a cat lover, just be aware of his little fib.
His Good Qualities
But it’s not all quirks and challenges! He’s kind, hardworking, respectful, and has a sense of humor that can brighten any room. You may not know this yet, but he’s quite the easygoing eater—anything you prepare will feel like a gourmet meal to him! And don’t worry about keeping the house immaculate; he’s not one to fuss over cleanliness. Plus, he prefers cozy nights in front of the TV to adventures outdoors, giving you plenty of time for yourself—whether that’s shopping or simply relaxing.
Welcome to the Family
I’ve been waiting for him to settle down and embrace adulthood, and I’m so pleased that you’ll be the one to help him grow into that role. Remember, if you ever need to chat or vent, I’m just a call away.
Welcome to the family!
Love,
Your Future Mother-in-Law
