- Let’s kick things off with the most obvious benefit: No more diaper duty! You can finally say goodbye to the days of dealing with someone else’s mess. They can go to the bathroom all by themselves. Now, if only they could remember to flush…

Communication takes a giant leap forward. Picture this:
Baby: Waaaa waaaa waaa!
Older Kid: “Mom, I think I have a stomachache and might throw up.” Sure, the baby isn’t trying to weasel out of school, but at least you can understand the big kid’s pleas! - Sleep is now a dream come true! You can snuggle into your bed, bid your partner goodnight, and actually sleep through the night. Words can’t adequately capture how blissful this is. No, seriously, they can’t.
- Bath time? Just say, “Go take a shower,” and they’ll hop right in without fuss. Just give them a heads-up on where the towels are, and they’ll wash themselves. Just remember to remind them to clean the important bits!
- Buckle up! Everyone hops into the car and puts on their own seatbelts. No more struggles with car seats and complicated straps. There’s an entire industry dedicated to teaching you how to install those things, and it can still be a hassle. No complaints here; it’s simply delightful.
- The days of hearing the theme song to Dora on repeat are long gone. Your car radio is finally yours to enjoy again. Until they decide they want to play “Uptown Funk” on loop every time you hit the road. Different, yet somehow the same!

You can have genuine conversations.
“Hey, Mom, what does this word mean?”
“Well, it means _______.” This is also the moment when you silently curse that kid at the playground for introducing swear words before you were ready to explain them. - Enjoying a hot meal is no longer a fantasy! You don’t have to stand holding a baby while your food gets cold. No more bouncing around trying to nurse while the delicious aroma of your meal wafts away.
- You can even send them to the Mother’s Day buffet with their own plates. Sure, they might come back with a mountain of bread and desserts, but hey, at least your food is still warm.
And my absolute favorite, not numbered because it’s simply the best:
“I love you, sweetie.”
“I love you too, Mom.”
