Shifting my perspective to the joy of witnessing my children flourish has become my focus. Each day, they grow a bit more independent, their little legs stretching longer right before my eyes. While it’s comforting to feel needed, there’s something even more fulfilling about enjoying moments when I’m not at the center of their universe. As my kids mature, I find more opportunities to pursue my own interests and passions beyond motherhood.
I’ll keep reminding myself to resist the urge for another baby. Who knows? In a couple of decades, I might be cradling a grandchild, indulging in the joy of buying adorable little outfits. Perhaps that’s why grandparents tend to spoil their grandkids—after all, they finally get to experience the baby love they’ve been longing for.
