My cat has a serious disdain for my children. Surely, I’m not the only one, right? While I was pregnant, I imagined my feline friend snuggling with my newborn and purring happily. Little did I know that the hissing she started directing at my belly around the seven-month mark was a clear sign that my dreams would not come true.
Honestly, my cat can be a real diva. I realize that some pets struggle with the arrival of little ones, but I never thought my cat would be one of those. Now that my kids are old enough to be actively engaged, she’s just not having it. She frequently hisses at them and even resorts to blocking the stairs when they try to come down. Seriously, cat! Good thing I adore her.
Today, I stumbled across a video featuring a lion at the zoo engaged in an intense stare-off with a little girl. Let me tell you, this lion was absolutely over it. It reminded me of every disgruntled house cat out there.
Kid: “Love me!”
Lion: “NO.”
