Dear little explorer,
I realize you’re navigating the chaos of the twos, and what a whirlwind it has been! Today, much like every other day, you’ve been on a mission to test the limits of my patience. Here’s a glimpse into our day together, a series of delightful antics that have led me to eagerly anticipate bedtime:
- Body slamming our shy cat, who clearly prefers solitude.
- Carrying the other cat upside down, much to their bewilderment.
- Watching only the opening credits of movies before declaring boredom.
- Spitting in my face while attempting an “air raspberry” (or just spitting for fun).
- Using the cat litter scoop as a hairbrush—innovative but not ideal!
- Throwing your cereal across the room while proclaiming, “Feed the kitties!”
- Digging through the trash for what you believe is hidden treasure.
- Screaming because you saw the sun, even though you refuse to look away.
- Yelling in frustration because the sun “went away,” hidden behind a tree.
- Unbuckling your car seat while we’re still driving!
- Crying because I put a little ketchup on your plate, exactly what you asked for.
- Attempting to flush four of your toy cars down the toilet.
- Crying in triumph when you succeeded—what a mess!
- Telling me to sleep while you ensure I can’t.
- Typing a “vital” email on my laptop while I was busy rescuing a cat.
- Asking if I’m done in the bathroom for three whole minutes—thank you for your concern!
- Eating dirt from my shoes like it’s a gourmet snack.
- Emptying the fridge, especially the fragile items (like eggs).
- Yelling “stinky poop” while running around after a diaper change.
- Attempting to scale the curtains—as if that’s a good idea.
- Spilling all my dresser’s contents onto the floor.
- Licking doorknobs at friends’ houses—yikes!
- Eating only the cheese from your mac and cheese and tossing the rest away.
- Asking for water every two minutes, then crying because you wanted juice.
- Leaving Cheeto fingerprints on the TV screen—fun times!
- Screaming when I explain I can’t buy a dragon because I don’t know where to find one.
- Asking for kisses, then promptly slapping my face because “that’s yucky.”
- Trying to sneak off to avoid bedtime when the clock strikes 7:30.
I adore you, but really, when the clock ticks to 7:30, I hope you’re ready to hide if you want to avoid the bedtime routine!
With love,
Your weary mom, just trying to keep it together.
