A couple with a shared love for Disney decided to transform their wedding into a fairy tale adventure, using their creativity and a bit of glue. Jamie Thompson and Emily Rivers crafted delightful Disney-themed centerpieces and decorations that captured the hearts of many online.
Emily’s wedding gown was also touched by Disney magic, as it was from the Alfred Angelo Disney Fairytale Weddings collection and inspired by none other than Cinderella herself. “In planning their wedding, Emily got super creative with the decor, finding unique ways to honor their favorite Disney films,” said renowned wedding photographer, Lisa Turner.

“The ceremony featured a charming woodland theme with butterflies, which represented classic animated films such as Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Alice in Wonderland,” she continued. With her own love for Disney, Lisa was the perfect choice to document their special day.

Like many Disney aficionados, the couple struggled to choose just one story to celebrate. Their solution was as beautiful as it was clever. “At the reception, each table was themed differently,” she explained. “The Cinderella table had a pumpkin carriage, the Little Mermaid table was adorned with a snarfblatt and a dinglehopper, while the Tangled table showcased an array of lanterns.”

“Emily even crafted a glowing rose with twinkle lights to complement their Mrs. Potts, Chip, and Lumière figurines on the Beauty and the Beast table,” Lisa shared.

The highlight of the head table was a miniature Sleeping Beauty Castle, symbolizing the place where Jamie proposed. According to Lisa, Jamie popped the question “at Disneyland in a serene spot beside Sleeping Beauty Castle.”
After such a romantic proposal, how could they not have a Disney-themed wedding? Emily shared that one of her favorite elements was her bouquet. “The night before the wedding, my best friend and I stayed up late assembling bouquets for the bridesmaids. By the time we started on mine, it was 2 a.m. and I was too tired to think. My husband ended up finishing it for me,” she reminisced. How sweet!

Thanks to their crafty skills with a hot glue gun, the couple was able to bring their vision to life. “Collecting and creating each item to theme the tables took a lot of time,” Lisa reported.

But all that effort was worth it, as guests thoroughly enjoyed exploring each themed table and mingling throughout the evening. “It was a fantastic way to get everyone talking!” Lisa exclaimed.
With help from family, the couple also had a one-of-a-kind cake made just for them. “It was crafted by Emily’s sister-in-law and topped with mini replicas of Carl and Ellie’s chairs from the movie Up,” Lisa shared.
After all the Disney magic was celebrated and admired, the newlyweds embarked on their honeymoon at Walt Disney World. “This wedding proves that Disney is more than just a place; it’s a state of mind where fairy tales can come to life anywhere,” Lisa said.
