Bachelor parties are usually synonymous with wild nights and excessive drinking, but a group of friends from Michigan experienced something entirely different during their getaway in a Tennessee cabin. Instead of a raucous celebration, they encountered an unexpected guest at their cabin door – a sweet dog, not a performer.
The men were enjoying breakfast with the door wide open when they spotted a female dog sitting patiently outside. Groom-to-be Jake Thompson shared with ABC News, “She was such a gentle soul. Once we gained her trust, her tail was wagging, and it was clear she was a big sweetheart.” It was apparent to them that she had recently given birth; the poor thing looked malnourished and dehydrated. After providing her with food and water, they noticed she began to produce milk again, suggesting her puppies might be nearby.
Curiously observing her behavior, the group followed her to a nearby wooded area and discovered a small den where several puppies were peeking out. “We carefully placed each puppy in front of her, and she nuzzled their faces, giving us the reassuring look that said, ‘It’s OK, I trust you,’” Thompson recalled.
After bonding with the pups, it was time for a much-needed bath. The men scrubbed the puppies, who were covered in fleas, and even fashioned makeshift beds for them. They decided to redirect their funds initially meant for beer into puppy food. “By the third day, our beer fund transformed into a puppy food fund,” Thompson added.
Once the rescue mission was complete, all the puppies and their mother were brought back home, either adopted by the men or their family members, all of whom live within a close five-mile radius. “I kept one of the males and named him Max. They’re all thriving,” shared party member Ryan Wilson with Scary Mommy.
This heartwarming story has captured media attention, leaving many women online swooning over the compassionate actions of these men. “I’ve seen comments calling us ‘the most datable guys’,” Thompson chuckled. “We’re still single, so who knows, maybe someone will get lucky!”
