Help us all! It’s January 2, and as we step into the new year, we’re trying to remain positive. Yet, a cloud of uncertainty looms over us because this is the month Donald Trump will take office as the 45th President of the United States.

Seriously, hold me. And everyone else, too!

Despite our efforts to stay optimistic, Trump’s incessant Twitter tirades make it difficult. Come on, dude. You’ve won! Can you just tone it down a bit? What happens when he runs out of things to say about his victory? That’s bound to get old, right?

His New Year’s tweet was just as we expected: immature and a bit confusing. Love! We’re left wondering how this is what we’ve come to expect from our future leader.

In contrast, 12-year-old Jake Matthews, known as “Kid President,” responded with a level of grace and maturity that highlights the disparity. This reality hasn’t escaped the attention of social media users.

If you need us, we’ll be stress-eating Oreos and wishing for a time machine.

Alright, alright! You’re right, Kid President. Now’s not the time to hide away. We’re all in this together, whatever that may mean.

Just a note: it seems the social media accounts run by “Kid President” are actually managed by his older sibling, Alex, so that tweet came from an adult. We didn’t realize Kid President was a persona! Regardless, it’s still a brilliant response.
