I hope this message finds you well. I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible effort you put into your work every day. You venture out into the world, facing challenges and engaging with others, while I stay home to care for our children and manage things from here. I genuinely appreciate all the hard work you do to support our family, and I can’t say thank you enough for the long hours you invest to keep our home running smoothly.
However, I have a small favor to ask. Can you please turn off your alarm clock in the morning? Seriously, it feels like a never-ending cycle of beeps that disrupt my sleep.
I understand that you’re tired—believe me, I get it. Sleep has been elusive for both of us since the kids arrived. But let’s be honest: it’s not my fault that you stayed up late binge-watching videos or that you guzzled water before bed, leading to multiple bathroom trips. I’m the one who pays the price every morning when your alarm goes off repeatedly.
It’s manageable when it goes off just once. You hit snooze, and I can usually drift back into sleep. But then, the cycle begins again—alarm after alarm, eight minutes apart, until I’m filled with a bit of “I-can’t-take-this-anymore” frustration. Sometimes, I’m lucky enough to catch extra sleep if the kids don’t wake me up too early. But when your classic rock playlist starts blaring, it’s game over.
And let’s not forget our little ones climbing into bed at all hours. They aren’t the happiest campers when woken prematurely, and when your snooze-fest drags on, they end up waking me too. Then, we’re all grumpy together while you head off to work, leaving the rest of us to battle our exhaustion.
Have you considered how much sleep you’re actually sacrificing? If you need an extra 40 minutes, simply set your alarm for later. It’s a win-win—you get more rest, and I get a chance to enjoy a peaceful morning.
I’m not here to be your personal wake-up service. I can’t bring you breakfast in bed or gently nudge you awake when your alarm goes off. I’m just a tired partner who wishes you would get up when the alarm first sounds. You’ll feel better for it, and so will the rest of us.
So please, for the sake of my sanity and the happiness of our children, let’s work on this. Stop hitting snooze and embrace the day a little earlier.
Thank you, love!
