Yes, There Are Amazing Bras for Larger Busts!

If you’re like many women, after having your first child, you might have found yourself cramming your now fuller bust into the same bras you wore before. I can confidently say that I spent a good three to four years completely unaware of my actual bra size—what a mistake!

Fortunately, I moved to a new town and discovered an incredible store that has a delightful mix of kids’ toys and women’s apparel, along with a special “bra fitting expert” who works on weekends. Did you know that such a thing exists? My expert was named Lily, and she guided me into the fitting room, armed with a tape measure. The result? I learned that I was a 36G! I had never even known G was an option.

It turns out that depending on the brand and style, my size can vary. I can be a 36DD in one bra and a 36G in another. Who would have thought? After purchasing three fantastic bras, I was amazed at how great my bust looked. We even ended up sharing laughs and drinks afterward—because who wouldn’t bond with a bra fitting guru?

Lily recently learned about a blog post we published titled “The Million Dollar Idea: A Bra for Big Boobs That Doesn’t Completely Suck,” and she reached out to share some recommendations from a true expert’s perspective. Trust me, if you have no clue about your bra size, seeking out a fitting expert can be a game-changer.

Here are some of Lily’s top recommendations:

  • Wacoal “Lace Affair”: Band sizes 32-38, cup sizes B-G, $56.00. I own this bra and can vouch for its comfort. It’s hard to find photos of women with larger busts wearing it, but it really is a gem!
  • Natori Pure Lux: Band sizes 32-38, cup sizes B-G, $72.00. This bra is all about comfort, and the straps are just wonderful.
  • Natori Pure Allure Full Figure Contour Bra: Band sizes 30-44, cup sizes B-G, $60.00. I also have this one, and it gives your bust a fantastic shape. It’s more suited for special occasions because you’ll be aware of the underwire by day’s end.
  • Wacoal Retro Chic Underwire Bra: Band sizes 32-46, cup sizes C-I, $59.00. If you’ve ever owned a Wacoal bra, you’ll understand why they have such a stellar reputation. Once you try one, you’ll likely brag about it too!
  • Fitfully Yours Nicole Sheer Lace Bra: Band sizes 32-44, cup sizes C-J, $69.00. This pretty design offers both style and coverage, making it perfect for thinner tops.

As you can see, finding quality bras for larger busts can be quite the investment. It’s frustrating that we have to spend so much for something that provides proper support. If anyone has affordable options, please share in the comments!
