Greetings, little friends! It’s me, Santa, sending warm wishes from the North Pole as we prepare for the most magical time of the year—Christmas! My dedicated elves are busy crafting delightful toys, and the reindeer are getting ready for our exciting journey around the world. I’ve noticed that my naughty list is much shorter this year, which means you’ve all worked hard to secure your spot on the nice list.
Understanding the Holiday Season
I wanted to take a moment to talk to you about something important. The holiday season can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to visiting me at shopping malls. Loud noises, bustling crowds, and the excitement of the season can be a bit much. But here’s a little secret: I understand these feelings very well because I, too, have autism.
When I was a young Santa, the chilly winds sending snowflakes flying made me dizzy. The joyful carols from my elves would sometimes be too loud for my ears, making me want to sneak away and find a quiet spot under Mrs. Claus’s cozy apron. And when the reindeer were playing their games, all the excitement would sometimes make me feel like I needed to take a break. I often felt out of place during the holidays, just like many of you might.
Over the years, with the support of my elf family, my reindeer pals, and the loving Mrs. Claus, I’ve learned to navigate these situations a bit better. And guess what? I still have tough moments, and that’s perfectly okay!
A Special Announcement
To bring a little extra joy this year, my elves and I are thrilled to announce a special autism-friendly event just for you! We’ll have quieter songs for you to learn and enjoy, arts and crafts straight from the North Pole, and, best of all, we’ll get to take a picture together to remember our fun Christmas celebration!
We can’t wait to meet you all in person. My hope is that we can host many more autism-friendly gatherings for children like you around the globe. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year!
With festive cheer,
Santa
