In a remarkable demonstration of youth activism, six teenagers orchestrated a protest that drew a crowd of 10,000 in Nashville, marking one of the largest protests in the city’s recent history. The teens, aged 14 to 16, were previously strangers but united through social media platforms, driven by their collective outrage over the tragic death of George Floyd, a Black man killed by police in Minneapolis.

“Every day, we wake up to new stories of innocent lives lost,” said Chen during the event. “We’re bombarded with videos of Black men and women being killed in broad daylight on social media. It’s exhausting, and we need to act.” The protest spanned approximately one mile along Rosa Parks Boulevard, ultimately leading towards downtown Nashville, where attendees knelt in solidarity and read the names of Black individuals, including George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, who have lost their lives to police violence.
“The people affected by this are your neighbors, your friends,” said Johnson, emphasizing the urgent need for community action against racism. “Together, we can work to end this injustice.” Green added, “We must change America. It’s time to recognize and see everyone in our communities.”
