Freeform has just released its “25 Days of Christmas” lineup to help keep us entertained. With a crucial election coming up next week, any distraction from the looming stress is definitely welcome.
This year’s schedule is a delightful blend of classic films and newer favorites, ensuring a nostalgic vibe. In my household, we can’t celebrate Christmas without romantic comedies like Love Actually and The Holiday. However, my teenage son and my husband, who adores Bruce Willis, insist on watching Die Hard (RIP Alan Rickman). It’s all about striking a balance.
As part of its annual “25 Days of Christmas,” Freeform will also debut films such as Almost Christmas, Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch, and Daddy’s Home 2, along with Incredibles 2, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Minions, and Despicable Me 3. And, of course, the beloved Home Alone and Santa Clause movies will make their appearance because who can resist the antics of Joe Pesci?
For those who haven’t yet experienced the magic of “25 Days of Christmas,” get ready to slip into your coziest pajamas for this cherished annual event on Freeform, which first began in 1996 and has become a holiday tradition ever since. Expect to see timeless classics like It’s a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street, alongside some surprising picks that make you wonder, “Was this really a holiday movie?” — like the entire Hunger Games series.
The festivities kick off on November 1 (this Sunday) and run throughout the month. If your favorite film isn’t on the list, don’t fret. Freeform is also bringing back fan-favorites like Christopher Robin, Black Nativity, and It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie. There’s no way we’re getting through the holidays without Miss Piggy!
It’s great to see Freeform already planning for the holidays, especially while still airing “31 Nights of Halloween,” which is hard to believe is actually happening this Saturday. What a strange year it’s been!
