Let’s Keep Our Facebook Feeds Clean!

Gather ’round, friends! It’s time for another chat about the things we’d rather not see on social media. No, we’re not diving into politics or the ongoing debates about mask-wearing. And we’re definitely not here to discuss the latest diet trends that shame our bodies while pretending to promote health. Instead, let’s focus on something much more pressing — the kind of gross stuff that clogs our Facebook feeds. Seriously, let’s keep it clean.

Here are five things that really don’t belong on Facebook:

  1. Pictures of your baby’s messy diaper
We all know that baby blowouts can be shocking — they look like mustard and can ruin favorite outfits. But while it might be a moment worth sharing with your partner, please spare the rest of us from seeing it online. Trust me, your friends don’t want to witness that horror show!
  2. Photos of deceased animals
I get it; hunting is a tradition for many. However, as a longtime vegetarian, seeing photos of the latest “trophy” kills doesn’t sit well with me. It’s tough to look at friends proudly showcasing their catches, especially when it serves as a reminder of where our food comes from. Let’s keep the animal kingdom off our feeds, shall we?
  3. Injuries and wounds
Unless you’re a medical expert sharing something educational, please refrain from posting images of your injuries. No one wants to see gory wounds or broken bones. If something’s wrong, it’s best to visit urgent care rather than put it on display online.
  4. Close-ups of skin issues
Pimple-popping videos may have their fans, but they should come with a warning. This is content that should be strictly voluntary. We deal with enough skin issues ourselves without having to confront them on our feeds!
  5. Bare feet
While many of us have posted vacation pictures showcasing our sandy toes, it’s worth noting that not everyone shares the same affinity for feet. Some folks can get downright squeamish at the sight of them. If you’re unsure, it might be best to think twice before sharing those foot photos.

Now, before you feel defensive about your past posts, remember that we’re all guilty of sharing something a little questionable at times. This isn’t meant to shame anyone; it’s just a lighthearted reminder of what we might want to keep off our social media.

Let’s make a pact to keep our feeds a little cleaner. After all, we’ve had enough stress this past year without adding to it with actual grossness. Deal? For more tips on home insemination, check out one of our other blog posts here, and to learn about home insemination kits, visit Make a Mom.
