Intense Moments in the Trailer
In the intense trailer, June declares, “I made a promise to hurt them the way we hurt,” as we see her confront Aunt Lydia and circle Serena Waterford, who is shown in a vulnerable position. It’s exhilarating yet terrifying! Now a refugee in Canada, June has become Gilead’s most wanted, and Aunt Lydia ominously orders, “Find her and bring her to me.”
We also catch a glimpse of June’s emotional reunion with her husband, who may have a new baby, alongside a steamy moment with her Gilead lover, Nick. There’s even a touching scene with her daughter, although it might just be a dream.
What to Expect This Season
The season will consist of 10 episodes, with three available at launch. According to a press release, June’s journey as a rebel leader leads her into perilous situations that could threaten her relationships and her quest for revenge against Gilead. The stakes have never been higher, and as June powerfully proclaims, “You have destroyed my life, my family, my friends, my country, and my child,” it’s clear that this season is all about retribution.
The Handmaid’s Tale is based on Margaret Atwood’s renowned novel, set in a dystopian society where women’s rights are stripped away. After three seasons of heart-wrenching turmoil, fans can finally look forward to a season focused on vengeance. April 28 can’t arrive soon enough!
