ABOUT FAMILY WEEK:

In Family Week, four best friends come together at an annual gathering of LGBTQ+ families in Provincetown, MA—the world’s largest event of its kind. This middle-grade coming-of-age tale celebrates themes of identity, acceptance, and the beauty of chosen family.

For as long as they can remember, Max, Lila, Milo, and Ava have cherished their time together in “the smallest, gayest town in the world.” Yet this summer, their rented beach house feels different. Ava’s parents are separating, leaving her life in turmoil. Milo has struggled academically, while Max is preparing to attend a progressive boarding school that welcomes transgender athletes, meaning he must leave Lila, his twin sister, and their moms behind.

Everything is shifting, and for Lila, it feels like change is happening all around her. Knowing this could be their last summer together, she is determined to make it unforgettable, hoping to convince her friends that Family Week will continue next year. After all, while good things may not last forever in reality, they certainly can in P-town.
