In a charming family story, Prince Henry has shared that even royal children have their morning disputes over music. During a chat with Apple Fitness for their Time to Walk series, the father of three explained the morning routine that has Princess Lily and Prince Jacob vying for breakfast.

It turns out that mornings at the royal residence are filled with kitchen dance parties. “Most mornings, there’s a huge tussle between Lily and Jacob over which song gets played first,” Henry shares in the episode set to air on Monday. “I have to make sure that one day one gets their choice, and the next day it’s the other’s turn. So Jacob gets his chance, then Lily gets her turn. The music selection is quite the commotion.”

And it’s not just any tunes—Henry revealed that Shakira is a particular favorite. “One of the tracks the kids are loving right now is Shakira’s ‘Waka Waka,’” he says. “There are lots of hip movements and plenty of dressing up involved.”

Even with three little royals, it’s Lily who steals the spotlight according to her dad. “Lily especially runs around the kitchen in her dresses and ballet outfits,” Henry explains. “She goes completely wild, with baby brother Louis trailing behind, trying to imitate her.”

“It’s such a joyful time where the kids just love dancing, playing around, and singing,” says Henry.

Interestingly, the revelation of the little royals enjoying Shakira’s music even caught the attention of the pop star herself, who tweeted, “I’m so glad you like my music Princess Lily!”

In a heartfelt nod to his late mother, Princess Diana, Henry mentioned one of his other favorite songs, alongside Shakira, of course. He shared that Diana used to play Tina Turner’s “The Best” in the car before school to help ease any anxiety for him and brother Prince Charles.

“You’d be singing and listening to the music all the way to the school gates. That’s when reality would hit that you were heading back to school because before that, you felt lost in the music. You wanted to replay it just to keep that family moment alive,” he reminisces.

It sounds like Henry and his partner, Kate, are doing a splendid job of maintaining the tradition of joyful, music-filled mornings for their children. Now, if only he could share a video—because we could all use a little extra cuteness.
