Brooklyn Decker Shares a Heartfelt Request She Made to Her Best Friend After Welcoming Her Son

On the day she gave birth, her best friend, who was not yet a mom herself, was by her side. Decker admitted, “Jen, I can’t bear to look at [my vagina] because I’m afraid it will haunt me. I need someone to check on what’s happening down there.” She then took her friend to the bathroom and bent over, asking her to inspect the situation and report back. “She agreed and said, ‘Okay, yep, it’s seared in my brain. There’s a physical record,’” Decker recounted, highlighting the depth of their friendship.

Postpartum Challenges

In addition to her amusing story, Decker shared some of the serious postpartum challenges she faced after the birth of her son, Hank, who is now six years old. She experienced concerning blood clots and other complications that made her recovery difficult. “I started noticing clots, and my mom, being a nurse but not in labor and delivery, said, ‘This isn’t normal,’” she explained. “I was seeing them in the toilet and in the mesh shorts that they give you. When the nurse checked, she reassured me that it was normal unless they got bigger than a golf ball.”

Breastfeeding Struggles

Decker also discussed the struggles she encountered while breastfeeding. “One time, while Hank was feeding, he pulled away and had blood on his lip. I panicked and thought, ‘What did I do? Is he going to get sick?’” she recalled. After speaking with the pediatrician, she learned that it was a normal part of the adjustment process. “In the moment, it was so painful that I was crying, and I thought I was causing harm to my baby, but it turned out to be a common experience.”
