This isn’t the first time the Nashville-based mom has advocated for normalizing breastfeeding and supporting one another as women. In July 2020, Peters posted a photo of herself nursing her then-infant son, Jack, while pumping milk from her other breast and somehow capturing the moment in a selfie. “Absolutely! Women are the backbone of the world. We need to uplift one another and not compete,” she wrote. “Posting this picture of myself instead of highlighting the strong women in my life might seem counterintuitive, but here I am at my most vulnerable. I wouldn’t be who I am without the amazing women around me.”
Peters shares daughter Zoe and son Jack with her husband, David Carter, a drummer. She also has a 16-year-old daughter named Lily from her previous marriage. In December 2020, Peters revealed on Instagram that she and Carter had suffered a miscarriage, describing it as “a heart-wrenching experience.”
