Dylan Scott and Mia Phan, stars of the popular home renovation series, are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child. Earlier this year, the couple hosted a stunning baby shower reminiscent of HGTV style, and now, Scott has shared touching images from a maternity photo session that marks this exciting new phase in their lives.
In one of the photos, Phan is seen alone, elegantly draped in a deep indigo fabric that accentuates her baby bump. Another captures a shirtless Scott tenderly embracing Phan from behind, his hands resting on her belly.
Scott and Phan first crossed paths in 2010 at Toronto Fashion Week, where Phan was playfully dressed as a member of the “fashion police.” “She was wearing a large badge and handing out ‘bad fashion’ citations,” Scott recalled in a recent interview. “I thought to myself, ‘Wow, she’s beautiful!’ Her amazing personality drew me in even more.”
After six years of dating, Scott proposed to Phan with a whimsical Dr. Seuss cake and a heartfelt serenade of Train’s “Marry Me.” The couple tied the knot in 2018 and spent two years trying to conceive. They candidly shared their fertility journey, which included IUI and IVF treatments, in Reveal, their online publication.
“We didn’t really plan to wait this long; we just never took the necessary steps. We always thought it would happen naturally, and it didn’t. After years of discussing our desire for children and giving the same responses to interview questions, it was time to take action,” Scott explained, engaging in a dialogue with Phan about their experiences. “When it comes to IVF, I wish someone had informed me about the supportive community out there,” Phan added. “That was something I leaned into and appreciated the most.”
“I had no idea how many others faced challenging paths to parenthood,” Scott remarked. “Many individuals go through similar struggles with IVF, IUI, or other methods, and realizing that helped us connect with a supportive community. We wanted to be a part of that.”
