Peta Murgatroyd documents the heartfelt conclusion of her IVF experience. The former “DWTS” star revealed her emotional embryo transfer journey through a series of candid videos.
In a two-part series shared over the last couple of days, Peta opened up about her experience with the embryo transplant—the concluding step in her in vitro fertilization process—and the heartache that followed when she discovered the procedure did not result in a successful pregnancy. The videos captured a spectrum of emotions, from the hopeful anticipation of her family preparing for the appointment, to a lighthearted moment with Peta on valium, and finally to her disappointment in the hospital room.
In her initial post, she expressed, “I aimed to make this morning feel typical. I wanted to maintain a calm atmosphere, lower the pressure, and simply enjoy our family’s morning chaos. I showered, brewed coffee, and played Shai’s favorite card game, Rat-a-Tat Cat, before saying goodbye as if it were just another day. I cleared my mind at the beach, my sanctuary for healing. I needed to feel the sand beneath my toes to know I was ready. I said my little prayers and then we set off for our appointment. If you’re Valium newcomers like me, you’ll get a good laugh watching me get a little too relaxed! 😩🤣 This whole experience has been something else. I’m processing it all one day at a time, and I appreciate you all for joining me on this journey. Please stick with me; I need your support.”
On the following day, she shared the second part of her journey, ultimately revealing that the transplant was unsuccessful. “I committed to being open and honest with all of you. Throughout my IVF experience, there were times I questioned that commitment, especially after receiving the disappointing news. But turning back now wouldn’t feel right. So here it is,” she began.

“One of my happiest days turned into one of the saddest just ten days later. Standing on the side of the road in West Hollywood, I held onto hope, thinking this was MY time for ‘happiness.’ Life has a way of surprising you; when you think you have it all figured out, it throws you a curveball and makes you start over. I’ve learned that ‘God’s plans will always be more beautiful than all your disappointments’… I have to keep believing that,” she reflected.
She recalled her emotions as the process came to an end. “Watching the part where I had to confirm my name and date of birth was particularly difficult. Revisiting that moment was tough as it felt final; it was a glimpse of my baby at the very beginning of their life. It felt uniquely special, and I genuinely believed it would work out.”
Despite the outcome, Peta concluded with a message of healing, saying, “Looking into Maks’ eyes as he cried, seeing our baby together… it made this experience worthwhile, even if it didn’t turn out as we hoped. I’m taking the necessary steps to heal, to feel my emotions, and to move forward with an open heart. Thank you all for supporting me through this journey. Your advice and encouragement have been invaluable during my first IVF round. I also want to express my gratitude to my medical team and everyone who has paved the way before me.
