8 Simple Steps to Boost Productivity During Naptime: Because Why Not?

8 Simple Steps to Boost Productivity During Naptime: Because Why Not?artificial insemination kit for humans

Juggling parenting, work, and a social life can feel overwhelming. To thrive across all aspects of life, it often requires a superhuman level of energy and focus. Fortunately, I’ve discovered a foolproof method to make the most of your naptime. By following these eight straightforward steps, you’ll accomplish more than you ever thought possible (or at least get your hygiene back to a pre-kid standard).

So, when your little one drifts off, set a timer for an hour and dive into the following:

Step 1: Make a List of Tasks.

Start by jotting down ten things you need to tackle. Consider all the important tasks you’ve been putting off at work, appointments you’ve delayed, bills that need paying, and errands to run. Finished? Awesome! Now, aim for ten more. In today’s world, it’s about pushing boundaries. Grocery shopping? Not enough! Research what foods boost children’s intelligence, identify harmful snacks, and discover allergen-free recipes for that upcoming dinner party. Include all of this on your list.

Step 2: Declutter Your Space.

A tidy environment is essential for concentration. As you glance around your home, observe how everything is arranged. Instead of cleaning, browse home decor ideas on your phone and add several items to your cart, promising yourself to clean after you’ve completed your redesign.

Step 3: Perfect Your Workstation.

Arrange your laptop, coffee, and notepad with such symmetry that even Marie Kondo would be impressed. Then, sit down, open TikTok, and scroll mindlessly until you stumble upon a trend like “quirky girl aesthetic.” Dive deep into this rabbit hole, reaching out to friends for their opinions, which will lead to validating their complaints about various life stressors. While it may feel unproductive, it’s a necessary part of your preparation.

Step 4: Think About Your Child (from a distance).

While on your phone, sift through recent photos of your child to send to family you’ve neglected. It might take browsing through hundreds before selecting that one perfect shot that captures your child’s essence without appearing staged. Don’t forget to post it on Instagram with the ideal caption—sweet but not overly sentimental, humorous yet not cheesy. Just be mindful of the clock; you may have already used up half of naptime. When you hear your child whimpering, don’t worry—their needs can wait; your Instagram followers need content! Maybe even squeeze in a quick FaceTime with Grandma.

Step 5: Find Your Energy.

Forget that fourth cup of coffee (didn’t you hear too much caffeine is bad for you?). Instead, seek energy through manifestation. Dig deep within and channel positive energy from the universe. Research some crystals to enhance this process. Remember, quality matters here. And yes, you might want to reheat that half-drunk cup of coffee, just in case.

Step 6: Evaluate Your Hunger.

Are you feeling peckish? Of course! Whip up something nutritious. No, not a cheese sandwich—think a blueberry acai bowl with chia seeds, homemade yogurt, fresh mint, and a sprinkle of turmeric. Don’t have those ingredients? Time’s running out, so just grab a handful of cereal and chase it with peanut butter, as that’s probably what you were planning anyway.

Step 7: Fit in Some Exercise.

A quick workout will give you an energy boost and help you regain your pre-baby physique. Try knocking out a few crunches and holding a plank until you can’t anymore.

Step 8: Get to Your To-Do List!

Now that you’re all set, use whatever time remains to tackle that list!
