Insurance Company Encourages Stress Management While Denying Claims

Hey there, health insurance companies! I see you’re really concerned about stress levels these days. Your websites are packed with info about how stress can lead to serious health issues like heart disease or, in my husband’s case, the back pain that left him bedridden for six months. Thanks for the concern!
You’ve also got a handy guide on spotting stress. Apparently, “rapid breathing or tense muscles” are signs of stress. Funny enough, I felt exactly that way when I called you to ask why you wouldn’t cover that one non-narcotic painkiller that actually works! Thanks for shedding light on my feelings of rage.
I appreciate your empathy towards those of us with chronic illnesses. It’s nice to know you understand how tough it can be when health issues pile up. After visiting the doctor with my husband, we often felt stressed due to the random denials of claims for his neurologist or orthopedist visits. But hey, we took that six-session workshop you offered on positive change, so now I have a clearer path to involve the attorney general in our ongoing battle over my medical claim. Much appreciated!
And let’s not forget your message to women, the selfless caretakers. You ask, “What’s Going On Under That Superhero Cape?” Well, it’s a breast pump that I had to pay for out of pocket because you initially said it was covered, then flipped the script on us!
Your stress management tips are quite insightful, starting with identifying the sources of stress in our lives. I’m so glad you suggested this because it took me a moment to realize that the mountain of denied claims and endless hours on the phone were the real culprits behind my high blood pressure and that twitch in my eye.
Now that I’ve figured that out, I’m totally on board with your advice about managing finances to cut down on stress. You know, like the kind that comes from an unexpected denial of an ER claim!
So, thanks for your concern about my health and well-being. I can now look for ways to reduce stress, which for me, means trying my hardest to avoid doctor visits altogether. If you’re interested in more on this topic, check out this post about home insemination kits for some great insights.
In summary, while I appreciate the health insurance companies’ thoughts on managing stress, it feels a little ironic when they’re simultaneously denying claims that cause even more of it!
