It’s Not So Difficult: 10 Foolproof Tips to Keep Mom Smiling
Hey there! I’m a pretty laid-back mom. I don’t ask much from my kids—just the basics like being polite and respectful. I let them explore and have fun, as long as no one ends up with a trip to the ER. As any mom can tell you, a happy toddler means a happy mom, but sometimes it feels like my kids forget that happiness is a two-way street. Life would be so much easier if they’d try a little harder to keep me cheerful. So, I’ve put together a list of ten things they can do to make my day brighter.
1. Sleep In Past 5 AM
Oh, if only you knew how much happier I’d be if I could sleep until at least 6. Kind of like wine, the later I sleep, the better I become. You know that bottle I keep eyeing around 2 PM? Yeah, that’s my secret!
2. Eat Your Dinner
You don’t have to finish your plate, but just take one bite. Seriously, you can’t judge if something’s gross without tasting it first. Nibbling or sniffing doesn’t count—just take the fork and give it a go!
3. Stop Eating Random Stuff
Crayons, stickers, dirt—why, oh why? I know it’s not going to harm you long-term, but changing those colorful diapers is something I could live without!
4. Nap Without a Fight
You don’t even have to sleep! Just be quiet for an hour, and I promise I won’t check the monitor and find out you’ve removed your diaper and turned your crib into a canvas.
5. No Meltdowns at the Store
It’s bad enough that you’re always in pajamas when we go shopping; let’s not add tantrums to that mix. Please just try to behave!
6. Keep Objects Out of Your Nose
I get it, sneezing is funny, but one day, something might get stuck up there, and we’ll have to make an awkward trip to the ER. That’ll be embarrassing for me and will definitely eat into your birthday fund!
7. Stop Licking People
Seriously, it’s bizarre and kind of gross.
8. Appreciate Your Cup
I know you want the blue cup, but when you get that, you suddenly want the red one your sibling has. Can we just stick to one? It’s a cup, not a soulmate.
9. Let Me Clean Your Blanket
Sure, it’s your best buddy, but it doesn’t have to be a cape, hat, or anything else you can think of. Just one hour without it, and you’ll be just fine!
10. Give Me Hugs
When I ask for a hug, just give it to me! You’re growing up way too fast, and I want to cherish every moment of your affection. And guess what? Ice cream for breakfast might be on the table if you throw in a kiss.
