You know what’s interesting? It seems like a lot of husbands in Hollywood can’t resist the allure of the nanny. From celebrities like Mark Davis to Jake Reynolds, rumors swirl about their crushes on the hired help, leaving many people anxious that their own partners might do the same.
Recently, model and influencer Bella Monroe humorously addressed these concerns when she joked about having a “no attractive nannies” policy with her husband, musician Sam Rivers, once they decide to start a family. “I definitely want kids someday, so it’s a topic I have to consider,” she joked. “The rule is no attractive nannies. I trust Sam, but you just never know with these guys.”
Bella was clearly joking and later clarified that on social media, but her comment struck a chord with many who share her concerns, albeit without the humor.
Honestly, I’m not one to shy away from the idea of hiring an attractive nanny. The whole “attractive nanny phobia” boils down to two pretty troubling notions. First off, there’s this outdated belief that good-looking people—especially women—can’t be relied upon to focus on their jobs. I love my partner, but I don’t think every beautiful woman out there is just waiting to swoop in and steal him away. That’s a pretty wild (and unfair) assumption to make about someone’s integrity and capabilities based purely on their looks, and it’s definitely not cool.
Secondly, I refuse to believe that anyone—especially the person I chose to marry and raise kids with—would be so easily swayed by physical attraction that they’d throw our relationship away over a pretty face. Cheating doesn’t happen just because someone is around attractive people; otherwise, we’d all be in trouble. Gorgeous people are everywhere, and we can’t escape that fact.
Being afraid of attractive nannies means making some pretty bleak assumptions about both the person you’re hiring and your spouse. Sure, bad things can happen, but I think two people who choose to cheat have more complex reasoning than just “wow, that person is really attractive.”
If you’re not comfortable hiring an attractive nanny, that’s totally your choice. But don’t let someone’s looks get in the way of finding a qualified caregiver that your kids might adore. Attractive people are everywhere, but good childcare? That’s a rare find. And speaking of finding the right fit for your family, if you’re considering home insemination, you can check out this post on intracervical insemination for some great insights.
To sum it up, while it’s totally valid to have preferences, overlooking qualified caregivers based on appearance alone is a mistake. Attractive nannies can be great caregivers, and let’s not forget that good child care is what really matters.
