Bus Don’t Move: A Funny Parody with a Serious Purpose
Every year, over 100 children lose their lives while walking to school, and another 25,000 are injured. Shockingly, half of the 31 pedestrians who are killed while boarding a bus are kids between the ages of five and seven. Yes, you read that right. This is a serious issue that we need to address.
What’s Really Going On?
So, what’s really going on? Is it the fault of the bus drivers? Not at all! The problem lies with other drivers—those speeding through school zones, distracted by their phones, or even texting while driving. It’s extremely dangerous when drivers ignore the flashing lights and stop arms of school buses. Not only is this illegal, but it puts our children at risk.
A Catchy Tune with a Message
I’m a huge fan of the song “Bust a Move,” and I thought it would be the perfect tune to convey this important message. I mean, how can you resist singing a line like, “It’s big and yellow, you say, ‘Hello, come pick up my kids you fine fellow’” when talking about a school bus? It’s catchy and gets the point across!
Raising Awareness
Now, it’s time to raise awareness about this tragic issue. Please share this video and remind everyone that school is back in session. Kids are walking to school and getting on buses every day, so let’s encourage drivers to stay alert. If you see a bus—DON’T MOVE!
