Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of posts from new moms on social media about how quickly babies grow up and how we should cherish every moment. They say things like, “Time flies! You’ll never get these moments back,” and while they’re spot on, I have to confess something: I don’t miss those baby days.
Now, don’t get me wrong! I absolutely soaked up every moment with my sweet little one, cuddling her close as she cooed softly on my chest. I felt a wave of nostalgia as I packed away those tiny newborn outfits. I even found myself wishing she could stay so small forever. But let’s be real—if she did, I’d be stuck mashing bananas and hauling a diaper bag around for eternity!
So, to my darling daughter, here’s why I don’t miss your baby days. Sure, I’d relive it all in an instant, but honestly? I don’t yearn for those sleepless nights or the endless bottles to wash. I’m grateful I don’t have to keep you shielded from the sun because you were too little for SPF that first summer.
I no longer worry about your fragile little bones every time someone new holds you. Now, I cherish your strong neck, those arms that wrap around me, and those legs that run and climb with joy. Watching you conquer the playground and twirl in ballet fills me with pride.
Your cries for nourishment have been replaced by your sweet little voice asking for “milk, please” while standing at the fridge. It’s such a joy to have a new friend who’s smart, funny, and bursting with energy and creativity.
I’m not rushing through any moments; I’m actually savoring this beautiful present while looking forward to everything that lies ahead. I envision myself as that mom cheering you on at after-school activities, sharing hot chocolate with marshmallows during our heart-to-hearts, and enjoying the thrill of taking you to the movies or experiencing your first roller coaster ride.
Although I’ll always hold on to the memory of your newborn scent, I know each stage of childhood brings its own unique joys and challenges. I’ll treasure every stage in my heart, ready to embrace the amazing person you are becoming as we navigate this journey together.
Because babies don’t last forever, but you, my dear, always will. And if you’re curious about at-home insemination options, check out this great resource for more information.
In summary, while I cherish the memories of your early days, I embrace the excitement of watching you grow and flourish. Each new phase is a blessing, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
